It’s one year to the day that Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior had released in theatres and went on to garner blockbuster success and rave reviews, ending 2020 as the highest grosser of the year in Indian cinema, partly due to lockdown keeping films out of the theatres for most of the year. A year on, I’m taking time to celebrate this brave warrior again. Here’s to my co-actors, director & entire cast, and crew. Speaking about the historical doubts some sections had raised over the Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, including costar Saif Ali Khan, Ajay Devgn had earlier told Hindustan Times, “Most of the history lacks adequate information in the chapters of the history books. Different books are written from different point of views. So it’s very difficult to tread that thin of realism, justify the characters and still be imaginative enough to dramatise the characters so that the audience enjoys it. You’ve to be careful and try to achieve all three.” Also Read – Adipurush: Saif Ali Khan apologises for his statement on ‘humanising’ Raavan; says, ‘Lord Ram has always been the symbol of heroism’
