Airtel and Capgemini join hands to develop 5G for Indian Enterprises

Airtel and Capgimini join hands to roll out 5G

An announcement was made on the 14th of December on 5G solutions for India. Bharti Airtel and Capgemini have joined hands to bring 5G based solutions for India.

The development hubs are in Mumbai for Capgemini’s 5G lab and Manesar, Haryana for Airtel’s.

“Our focus will be on enabling enterprises to leverage the benefits of 5G technology and identifying exciting new use cases to fuel innovation, revolutionize business models and accelerate digital transformation,” commented Ananth Chandramouli, Managing Director of the India Business Unit, Capgemini.

A few 5G use cases have already been established by Capgemini at Airtel’s lab. These are focused on remote assistance and smart health for field operations.

Other use case solutions for 5G are leveraging computer vision, AR (Augmented Reality) and AI/ML computing.

“Through this partnership with Capgemini, we look forward to offering our customers cutting edge solutions, which deliver the benefits of the 5G technology,” said Ganesh Lakshminarayanan, CEO-Enterprise Business, Airtel Business.

Airtel and Capgemini intend to bring together their experience in connectivity. By working on 5G solutioning and System Integration (SI), they plan to co-innovate 5G use cases in India.

Recently this year, Airtel also demonstrated India’s initial 5G experience over a live 4G network. They also revealed India’s first 5G trial and gaming experience on 5G. Airtel is also leading the O-RAN Alliance enterprise for building 5G solutions in India.
