BCCI President Sourav Ganguly Discharged From Hospital In Kolkata

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Sourav Ganguly was discharged from a hospital in Kolkata on Sunday morning (January 31). Ganguly had undergone another round of angioplasty earlier on Thursday, which was followed by two more stents.

Incidentally, Ganguly went to the hospital last week for a regular check-up where the doctors advised him to get admitted. He got three stents in the presence of senior doctor Devi Shetty and also underwent angioplasty. Since then, he was under the watchful eyes of the doctor.

Meanwhile, hospital authorities wanted to discharge Sourav Ganguly on Saturday night itself, however, after discussions with the family, it was postponed by a day. In fact, Sourav has also managed to do some work for BCCI while at the hospital. His secretary Rohit Poddar took care of Sourav’s BCCI duties after discussing with him while at the hospital.

As per reports, Sourav’s vitals were normal after installing the stents, with all test reports coming back normal on Saturday.

Earlier on January 2, the BCCI president was admitted to Woodlands Hospital after he complained of chest pain. He spent about five days in the hospital before being finally discharged on January 7. After getting discharged, the former Indian skipper had thanked the medical team of Woodlands Hospital for looking after him and doing the needful procedures.

Sourav Ganguly was due to travel to Chennai for the first Test between India and England starting from February 5. England have reached Chennai for the four-match Test series as a part of the ICC World Test Championship followed by three ODIs and five T20Is.

The second two Tests will take place in Ahmedabad followed by 5 T20Is while Pune will host the three ODI matches.
