Bharat Arun Terms Ravindra Jadeja As Most Complete All Rounder

Bharat Arun, Indian bowling coach heaped praise on Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin for their performance in Australia besides terming Ravindra Jadeja as ‘the most complete all-rounder’ of the Indian side.

Ravindra Jadeja, who did not feature in the first Test against Australia because of a concussion injury suffered in 1st T20I, came back into the side for the second Test in Melbourne and immediately left his mark in all three departments of the game.

In the opening match of the three-match T20I series, Ravindra Jadeja scored 44 not out off 23 balls, which played a major role for India’s 11-run victory in that game. But in the last over during India’s first innings of that match, while batting he got a hit on his helmet suffering concussion.

Earlier, in the 19th over of that innings, he got a hamstring injury and was ruled out from next 2 T20Is and 1st Test. Earlier, he scored an inspiring 66 not out off 50 balls and also picked up one wicket during the third ODI at Canberra, where India claimed a victory.

“The way he is batting, Jadeja is today the most complete all-rounder we have and it is an exceptional sign for India,” Bharat Arun said in a virtual press conference on Friday.

Ravindra Jadeja had a batting average of 85 and bowling average of 15 which is remarkable in this Test series playing 2 Tests at Melbourne and Sydney. Ravichandran Ashwin took 12 scalps in 3 Tests and scored 78 runs.

Ravindra Jadeja scored an important 57 with the bat and stitched a partnership with captain Ajinkya Rahane to set up the foundation for India’s comeback win in Melbourne. In the third Test in Sydney, he picked four wickets in the first innings and scored useful 28 with the bat before being hit on the thumb by a bouncer, which ruled him out of the final Test.

“Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin have been magnificent. They are number one spinners in the world plus Jadeja’s rise as an all-rounder is a huge bonus for the country,” Bharat Arun said.

Ravindra Jadeja is not a part of the Indian side for the first two Tests in the upcoming four-match series against England starting February 5 but various reports are suggesting that he might be ruled out of the entire series because of the fractured thumb.
