Braunwyn Windham-Burke believes she was misrepresented on The Real Housewives of Orange County season 15.
After sharing a couple of photos of herself and two female friends enjoying time together in Puerto Rico, Braunwyn responded to a fan who applauded her for her honesty and “realness” by suggesting she no longer cares about how she looks on the show.
“Braunwyn ~ I loved your live stories yesterday, especially the clips with [Sean Burke]. It’s lovely seeing you two as friends. Thanks for your [honesty] and realness,” the fan wrote on January 3. “The human condition is messy and beautiful, heart-wrenching and raw ~ you, my dear, are doing a beautiful job of figuring out some heavy sh*t. And you’re doing it with dignity and grace! Keeping shining, beautiful!”
The fan also said they were enjoying getting to know “the real ( not edited by Bravo ) Braunwyn.”
In response, Braunwyn said she got the “worst edit” this year on RHOC.
“I got the worst edit this year….I had to actually apologize for how I spoke to my boss at one point as I yelled [four] letter explicatives…loudly,” she recalled.
That said, when it comes to her on-camera persona, Braunwyn is unconcerned about the thoughts of viewers.
“It is what it is….and honestly it’s kinda freeing when I gave up on getting people to understand the truth and just rolled with it, for the first time in my life I really don’t give a fu*k,” she explained.
Following her response, Braunwyn was met with a number of messages of encouragement.
“I’m on the same path. 2021 is the year of giving up the weight of others expectations and trying to please people or get them to understand,” one person said.
“It’s very freeing to finally be true to yourself isn’t it? Never too late!” said another.
“I agree, Bravo has not portrayed you as the person we are meeting on IG,” added a third. “I have to say, after this season I wasn’t a fan of you. Yesterday’s IG story completely changed my mind and I would encourage bravo to portray you as your true self.”
