Braunwyn Windham-Burke appeared on the January 13 episode of Watch What Happens Live, where she opened up about hitting her husband, Sean Burke, and admitted that the abuse was the “lowest” point of their 26-year relationship.
Weeks after revealing she had gotten physical with Sean on multiple occasions during an episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Braunwyn said she’s since made amends to Sean before discussing her relationship with her castmates and reacting to claims of supposedly tipping off paparazzi in Newport Beach.
“It was ugly,” Braunwyn admitted of her abuse against Sean on the WWHL: After Show. “Sean was the only thing that stood between me and a bottle of alcohol.”
Looking back, Braunwyn confirmed she regrets hitting Sean before revealing they are currently in therapy.
“I made amends to him. But was it pretty? No. That was the lowest of our relationship but he is an amazing man and he doesn’t judge me on my worst days. He understood what I was going through and he’s grateful he kept me sober,” she continued.
As she approaches the one-year anniversary of her sobriety, Braunwyn said she’s trying to come into her own.
“Sean and I have 26 years of history and I’ve always been very dependent on him. [So] I’m trying to just come into my own, support myself, make my own decisions, and become more of a balanced relationship,” she explained.
As for where she stands with the RHOC cast, Braunwyn said she’s been forced to reevaluate her relationships with the other women.
“There’s definitely some boundaries I’ve put up and some toxicity that I’m not willing to stand for anymore,” she shared.
During another segment of WWHL, Braunwyn denied calling the paparazzi on herself and blamed the recent photos of her on the beach with her girlfriend and at a sex shop with her husband on Kelly Dodd.
“Kelly doxxed my house not too long ago so I have paparazzi that’s just parked in front of my house and they follow me all around the city,” Braunwyn revealed. “They followed me Sunday to a sex shop. They follow me everywhere I go. They have been hanging out in front of my house and following me everywhere.”
Braunwyn also addressed the way in which her seven children have responded to her new romance with girlfriend Kris.
“My older kids, they’ve met Kris. They know her. They are rolling with it. The younger kids don’t really know that anything has changed,” she admitted.
