Complaint by Ravi Sharma’s legal team against MATV partly upheld

A complaint by Ravi Sharma’s legal team against a show broadcast on MATV has been partly upheld by Ofcom.

In an episode of ‘Let’s Talk Hinduism’ shown in February 2020, a discussion was held about an alleged dispute between management committee members of the Vishwa Hindu Mandir Temple, in Southall west London, including Mr Ravi Sharma. The presenters and callers to the programme made a number of claims about Mr Sharma. Glen Solicitors submitted a complaint on Mr Sharma’s behalf that he was treated unjustly or unfairly in the programme and that his privacy was unwarrantably infringed.

Ofcom upheld Mr Sharma’s complaint of unjust or unfair treatment in the programme as broadcast. However, Ofcom has not upheld Mr Sharma’s complaint of unwarranted infringement of privacy in the programme as broadcast.
