The Day 2 of the inaugural edition of the Cricfit Premier League ( CPL ) witnessed the U16s Boys match up between the Cricfit Academy and the Happy Boys at the Thakur Cricket Stadium in Kandivali. The Happy Boys won the toss and elected to bowl first as they looked to restrict the opposition on a low score and then chase it down comfortably in the 2nd Innings.

Batting first Cricfit Academy had a sloppy start as they lost their opening batsman Abdul Hadi on a duck in the very first over of the innings which gave the Happy Boys the perfect start to the match. Despite losing a wicket in the first over, batters Hamza Khan and Auwab Kunni held on and managed to take the score up to 46/1 at the end of the powerplay.

Followed by which we saw a collapse of epic proportions as in the next 10 overs, Cricfit Academy lost as many as 7 wickets with Hetanshu Kamdar being one of the pick of the bowlers as he picked up 3 wickets in his 4 over spell. In the end, Cricfit Academy didn’t last until the final ball of the innings as they were bowled out for 125 runs with 4 balls to spare in the innings.

In reply, it was a dominant batting display by the Happy Boys as they chased down the target of 126 in just 15.5 overs with major contributions coming from Aditya Singh and Shreyansh Hirlekar who put up a stellar 51 run partnership for the 2nd wicket after a 51 run opening stand by Aditya Singh and Pranav Sawant.

Cricfit Academy never really managed to get back in the game as Mohammed Taha and Hammad Karim were the only bowlers to pick a wicket each in the chase. Hetanshu Kamdar was adjudged the player of the match for his superb spell of 4 overs for 17 runs and picking up 3 crucial wickets.
