England Won During 2012 Tour To India But Faces India Who Have Beaten Australia In Own Backyard

The four-Test series against Virat Kohli’s men is going to be a much bigger challenge for the side, which last won in India in 2012. India are on a roll having beaten Australia in their own backyard twice in the last three years, most recently in January this year with an inexperienced team hit by a string of injuries to key members.

Sam Curran, England’s all-rounder is rested as part of England’s rotation policy for the two Tests in but will be joining the side for the remainder of the series. He is expected to fly to India on February 11.

England had served a six-day quarantine after landing in India and will train three days before the first Test, starting Feb 5 in Chennai. Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer and Rory Burns, who have been rested for the ongoing series in Sri Lanka, arrived in India before others and the trio will get five days to train following their hotel quarantine.  The England selectors have rested Jonny Bairstow for the first Test, while wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler will return home after the first Test.
