MUMBAI: Imlie is one of the most successful shows on television and has done well on TRP charts since it has hit the screens. 

The leads of the show, Sumbul and Gashmeer are loved as an on-screen couple and have a good fan following. Their characters have become household names. 

Viewers like the banter between Imlie, Aditya, and Mayuri, and no wonder the show is doing so well. 

Imlie as a character is very innocent and gullible and that’s what connects to the audience. 

But did you know that before the makers finalized Sumbul Khan for the role, it was offered to a few actresses who refused?

1 Kanchi Singh

When Kanchi was approached for the role and when the meeting happened between her and the makers, post that things didn’t work for some reason. 

2. Niti Taylor

Niti couldn’t take up the offer as the makers at one point thought she wouldn’t fit the bill. 

3. Anushka Sen

Anushka couldn’t take up the offer as she was offered two serials at that and she decided to go with the other one and hence reject Imlie. 

4. Reem Shaikh

Reem said to the role of Imlie as she is busy shooting for her current show. 

5. Avika Gor

Avika couldn’t take up the role as she was busy in some prior commitments. 

6. Ashnoor Kaur

Ashnoor couldn’t take up the offer as she was busy with some music video shoots and some other prior commitments and hence things didn’t work out.

Well, in the end, the role was bagged by Sumbul Khan, and fans feel she is the perfect choice for the role and no one could do justice to Imlie the way she did.
