How To Level Up Your English Vocabulary In 3 Months

how to level up your english vocabulary

You all might be wondering why I have chosen the English language only for vocabulary improvisation and why not some other language: the reason is English is a standard language worldwide for communication purposes. Let us say you went to France then, how would you communicate with the locals out there as French people don’t know how to speak Hindi and you don’t know how to speak French. But you can use English as a medium for communication as it is considered as a standard language to talk worldwide.

The topic just doesn’t end with talking to foreigners but if your English vocabulary is awesome ( you have a bag full of innovative English words) you can impress your interviewer, teacher while giving a project presentation. So these are the reasons why you should improve your English vocabulary. Let’s head on to the techniques and I am not going to give you guys boring tricks like reading newspaper articles and stuff so scroll along and read the tips written below:

1] Watching English movies and series:

This is the most entertaining way of improving your vocabulary. Whenever we watch any movie or tv series we have characters in front of us along with subtitles. So while, watching them whenever a word appears which seems unfamiliar to you simply pause the movie and note it down in a book (you have to maintain a vocabulary book where you have to note down new words consistently): write its meaning, synonyms, antonyms by simply googling the word and make a sentence out of it and at the end when you have completed watching the movie/episode write a short summary about it using those words.

2] Using the Genius lyrics app:

In the Genius app, you can find almost any English song’s lyrics and you can even play it simultaneously. So, while playing the song read the song along with the singer and do the process which I have mentioned firstly. Using this technique your vocabulary will improve definitely but also your English listening skills will improve, to target this specifically you can play a rap song. Here’s the link to the app for Android & for ios.

3] Using the Word-bot application:

This app specifically focuses on GRE applicants but even if you are not pursuing GRE you can cater maximum benefits out of it. The app has many sections and each section has around 30 words with their meaning, synonyms, antonyms, usages but what’s special about this app is that along with the above-mentioned content it even explains the word’s meaning through visuals/images and it also contains sentence completion tests through which you can see whether you have mastered the word or not. Here’s the link to the app for Android & ios.

4] Using the book Word Power Made Easy:

After going through this book you won’t be the same person who you used to be, your vocabulary will improve drastically. The only thing which all readers have to do is study each session at your own learning rate don’t rush through them, review the previous sessions before starting a new one and the most vital tip is to test yourself, go through each and every exercise mentioned in the book (work with a pencil/pen) and it’s a humble request if you genuinely want to improvise your vocab develop a routine for this book and stick to it.
