Hyena: Tracking Jung Geum-ja’s fierce style in the courtroom drama; Here’s what we loved

While the whole work-from-home setup is still haunting us, and preventing us from showing off our power dressing, there is no good reason we cant amp up our wardrobes meanwhile. While there is no real replacement of the thrill that comes with dressing up, however, the best what we can do at the point is replace our trendy, stylish, and well-coordinated ensembles with “half-dressed” attires that only look good from the waist up.

 

So naturally, when the 2020 courtroom drama Hyena started, it not only cured us of our boredom but also made us bookmark almost every look for our current “half dressing” and our future looks. The female lead character Jung Geum-ja”s fabulous, statement-making corporate outfits assert such power that everyone already knows she means business.

 

For the unversed, Hyenathe show revolves around two competitive lawyers (Kim Hye-soo as Jung Geum-ja and Ju Ji-hoon as Yoon Hee-jae) who work for an elite clientele. In the midst of an intense legal battlefield, where they constantly try to outdo each other, love blooms. As we were glued to our screens, waiting for the next case they’d work on and the tough competition that’d ensue, we couldn’t help but look forward to Jung Geum-ja’s outfits, too. 

 

While the character’s style speaks volume about her, it is one we wouldn’t mind in our wardrobes! Jung’s aesthetic is confident, aggressive, and rebellious, with a sense of a cool, fun, and playful attitude. The use of bold colour, chic pairings, athleisure spin and statement pieces incorporated in power dressing, all leave a memorable mark on the fashionistas in waiting.
