Scarlet Nexus is a Japanese Action RPG game. Still, you can play it on English Dub which is pretty good for a Japanese Game.
Is Scarlet Nexus Worth Buying?
To answer this, we must ask ourselves some more questions, and let’s get started with it.
Yes, it is. It might seem not so different than a typical anime. But Scarlet Nexus knows how to do some good storytelling. It is engaging and fun where players get excited, eagerly waiting to get to the next chapter/phase.
The premise is simple. It is a dystopian world where the world has progressed to a Cyberpunk like night city. But the world is threatened by monster-like creatures called the “Others”. Others want nothing but to consume human brains and to stop the Other Suppression Force (OSF). Now, a new batch of recruits from the 567th class have joined the (OSF) and must protect humanity from Others. They must fight and survive external and internal problems in OSF and their country.
The short answer, it succeeds where Assassin’s Creed Odyssey failed. For those who have not played Odyssey, here’s a quick summary. In Odyssey, the players have a choice to play as which character. Whichever they choose becomes the hero and others join the enemy. Your choice only matters in the selection of the gender of the hero.
But in Scarlet Nexus your choice decides whose perspective are you going to play the game from. Two choices: Yuito Sumeragi and Kasane Randall, both are recruits from the 567th class. Your choice will decide how the story progresses on your end. So, it is best advised to play both after finishing the other.
Both characters are good in their own way and have completely different personalities. Yuito is more optimistic type, while Kasane is more of a Silent, speak only, when necessary, type. The main plot is the same from both sides but the two have different backstories and struggles.

Environment and Settings
Once again, yes, it is. You’ll have access to different locations starting with Suoh city. Apart from Suoh city, the player has access to ruined cities, facilities, and many more environments. Each location will get unlocked as the story progresses.
There’s not much to explore, it is a linear story game. But it is enough to enjoy the game and have fun.
Unfortunately, no. This is the downside of Scarlet Nexus. Side missions are not preferable, they must find some resource or kill enemies with certain actions. The problem is it does not tell you, where? Where to search for the resource or to kill the enemies. You are supposed to fight a Vase Paw and you remember fighting them in a location. You go there again, instead, some new type of enemy might be lying in wait.
Completing Scarlet Nexus side missions is a grind for sure.
Surprisingly yes. Usually, we don’t expect Japanese games to have good English voice acting. But Scarlet Nexus’ voice acting is excellent in both languages. But while playing in Japanese, the player might have some trouble going through some dialogues during combat.
Yes, Scarlet Nexus is a worth buying game. Apart from the side missions, the game is fun and you can enjoy it in Japanese and English Language.
