Jaaved Jaaferi on son Meezaan & Navya Naveli’s dating rumours: People want content; They are just good friends

It is no secret that linkup rumours are quite common in the film industry. Of late, Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda has been in the news owing to her reportedly being in a relation with Jaaved Jaaferi”s son Meezaan. The duo’s rumoured relationship has been the talk of the town. While both the young stars have always maintained that they are good friends, they often spark off their dating rumours. Navya and Meezaan first set tongues wagging after they were spotted together coming out of a movie theatre in 2017.

However, in a recent interview with The Times of India, Jaaved has refuted rumours of his son being in a relationship with Navya. While clearing the air about the same, the actor stated that they are just good friends who have known each other from their school days. The leading daily quoted the senior actor as saying, “People want content. Being good friends with somebody is considered to be something else always. These children have grown up together; my daughter and Navya have been friends since school.” 

He added Meezaan and Navya have a common group of friends. Even Sara Ali Khan and Meezaan were in the same school. He stated that they used to come home, hang around till 3 AM. “It is convenient to link them up as they are always together,” Jaaved concluded.

A few days ago, Navya gave a shout-out to Meezaan for winning the Best Debut Award for his film Malaal. Earlier in a chat with Mumbai Mirror, Meezaan had dismissed the reports of him dating Navya. He said, “We are from the same friends circle, she’s my sister’s bestie and a really good friend. I’m not in a relationship with anyone.”
