Jackie Goldschneider is speaking out about the messy premiere episode of the 11th season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
In addition to commenting on her Gia Giudice analogy and confirming the public was “strongly” on her side amid her feud with Teresa Giudice, Jackie gushed over her marriage to husband Evan Goldschneider and explained why she may never be friends with Jennifer Aydin.
“I want to make it clear, there was absolutely no truth to what I said about Gia. It was an analogy,” Jackie confirmed on the February 24 episode of the Reality Life With Kate Casey podcast. “[And] the fact that it went over Teresa’s head, it really bothers me.”
“Even though public support was strongly on my side, just knowing that some people out there thought that I would make something up about drugs about someone’s kid just bothered me because that’s so not the person that I am and I would never want her reputation to be damaged,” she continued.
According to Jackie, she clapped back at Teresa with her analogy about Gia after attempting to reason with her for a “long time” as Teresa continued to push her in a way that felt “personal.”
“At that point, she wanted to really embarrass me and almost like, push me out of the group,” Jackie explained, adding that fans will soon see that there is a “deeper issue” between her and Teresa.
Looking back at the rumor Teresa spread about Evan at his birthday party, Jackie admitted to feeling that Teresa had made “an a**” out of her before insisting there was never a question in her mind about her husband. She then said she didn’t initially understand what Teresa meant when she claimed to have heard that he was doing “stuff” at the gym.
“I was like, ‘Is she implying that he’s gay, or is she implying that he’s screwing around with [women]… or is she implying he does drugs?’” Jackie wondered. “The irony is that Evan goes to such a small gym that’s right around the corner from our house and it’s like the last place he could conceal any bad behavior.”
Either way, Jackie added, “We’re really, really in love. Even after 17 years, we are so in tune with each other.”
Moving on to her relationships with the rest of the RHONJ cast, Jackie said that she and her co-stars are friends “year-round” before noting that she is “not close” with Jennifer.
According to Jackie, she did have empathy for Jennifer after learning about her family issues amid season 11, but it didn’t bring them closer.
“In [Melissa Gorga]’s case, when she was having issues with [Joe Gorga], that made us even closer because I wanted to be there for her. But with Jennifer, there’s a strain on our relationship because… I’m not sure she knows how to be friends with Teresa and me,” Jackie revealed.
Also during the podcast appearance, Jackie said that while she and Dolores Catania butted heads during season 10, their dispute actually led to a close friendship.
“When we had that awful fight on vacation, I think both of us, when we made up, we really… made an effort. I think she really wanted to make an effort to get to know me. And I think you’d be surprised to know I’m very close with her now and I think it was a result of that fight.”
As for what fans can expect to see from her and her castmates as the season continues, Jackie said there will be “a lot of deep, dark drama” and “a load of fun.”
