Jill Zarin Suggests She Was Recently Snubbed by Bethenny Frankel, Responds to Bethenny's Appearance at Bobby's Funeral, and Admits She Was "Shocked" By RHONY Firing

Jill Zarin and Bethenny Frankel used to be the best of friends, but are they still in touch?

Years after the ladies were last seen together on The Real Housewives of New York City, Jill offered an update on their friendship before responding to a question about their encounter at Bobby Zarin‘s funeral and claiming to have quit the Bravo series before being fired ahead of its fifth season.

“I have not [spoken to Bethenny],” Jill said on the February 2 episode of The Take On with Amir Yassai podcast, via Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “I heard she was here on New Year’s Eve with Siggy Flicker, I think. And that she was in the same community I live in.”

According to Jill, Bethenny’s boyfriend, Paul Bernon, may have a home near her parents.

“[I heard] that she’s dating a guy who lives in the same community my parents live in, which is weird if it’s true because you’d think she would have said hello,” she explained.

While Jill and Bethenny aren’t in contact with one another at the moment, Bethenny was present at the January 2018 funeral of Jill’s late husband in New York City. However, when asked about Bethenny’s appearance, which Ramona Singer suggested was for the cameras, Jill refused to say whether the moment they shared was authentic.

“It’s not really the time and place to get into it,” she replied. “It’s done and over. It is what it is.”

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live in September, Bethenny told Andy Cohen that she last saw Jill after Bobby’s funeral.

“I went over there [to her house] shortly thereafter [Bobby’s funeral] to introduce her to Bryn, but I haven’t seen her since,” Bethenny revealed. “She texts me every so often. I think she [texted] me ’cause of the Jewish new year. But we don’t see each other. But it’s cool. Like, if see her, I’d not give her a hug ’cause it’s COVID, but I would hug her if it were not a pandemic.”

Also during her podcast appearance, Jill said she quit her role on RHONY after season four because her producers wouldn’t give her a firm answer on whether or not her contract would be renewed.

“At the time I didn’t feel relieved, I was angry,” Jill recalled, noting that she had quit the show so she could begin traveling with Bobby, who had recently been diagnosed with cancer.

“[Producers] hadn’t decided if they were doing another season, which is funny now, 13 years later. Even though I thought they were and even though I thought I’d be back I needed an answer because we wanted to book a three-week trip if we weren’t,” she explained.

Although Jill didn’t really want to quit the show and never followed up with her decision to leave, she later learned she’d been fired.

“They fired me. I don’t know why I was shocked, but I was shocked,” she admitted.
