According to multiple reports, IPL franchise Kings Xi Punjab is all set to go Delhi Capitals’ way as they’re all set to change their Team name and logo ahead of 2021 IPL. The franchise owned by Preity Zinta, Mohit Burman, Ness Wadia, and Karan Paul will seemingly look for a change of fortunes for the Kings’ franchise after a subsequent change in name and logo.

As per Sportskeeda, Kings XI Punjab will make an announcement regarding the change in outlook just a day prior to the 2021 IPL auction. The franchise which is led by ace Indian batsman KL Rahul had a horrendous 2020 season in the UAE. Despite being a star-packed by quality players such as Mayank Agarwal, Mandeep Singh, Chris Gayle the franchise finished 6th with just three wins under their belt.

Kings Xi Punjab To Fill Gaps During 2021 IPL Auction

Going into the 2021 IPL auction which takes place on 18th February, Kings XI Punjab have a remaining purse of 53.2 crores after releasing the likes of Jimmy Neesham, Glenn Maxwell and Sheldon Cottrell. After the retentions were announced, Kings XI Punjab’s Head Coach Anil Kumble said they’ll be looking to fill the gaps in the side after having retained 16 out of their 25 member squad.

“We have retained 16 players out of the 25-member squad that we had last season. So, the plan is to fill those gaps in the coming auction so that we will be a solid team going into the 2021 IPL,” KXIP head coach Anil Kumble had said.
