Lucifer Season 5 Part 2: Release Date, Plot And Other Details – Crossover 99

Crossover 99

If you end up asking, wherefore art thou, Lucifer? Don’t worry, you are not alone in that. Currently, lovers of the sinfully entertaining Netflix series are still awaiting season 5 part 2 to drop. And we are going to be waiting a little longer.

Originally, it seemed like fans might eventually get their wish sometime in February 2021. But alas they did not. That said, there might be some good news on the horizon for those willing to dive back into the devil’s dealings from the City of Angels. It is only a matter of if.

For those just learning about Lucifer, here’s the premise.

What’s Lucifer about?

Of season 5 part 1, the Rotten Tomatoes Critics Consensus notes that while the brand new batch of episodes”might not make it some new converts,” it will take a solid job developing some of its key characters, and the show’s”unique brand of levity” is bound to”satisfy” current fans.

The question is, even when we will get to see the remainder of Lucifer season 5? Here’s what we know up to now.

What’s the release date for Lucifer season 5, part 2?

Unfortunately, things are still fairly vague on when part 2 will land on Netflix. In January 2021, the show’s writers revealed on Twitter the pandemic has stalled production.

“We know everybody wants to know, however, the reality is even WE don’t understand when #LuciferSeason5B will emerge. It’s not completed yet,” they tweeted. Adding, “The pandemic blew our strategies. But when we have an official launch date, trust, we are dying to allow you to know! Same with a trailer. #patience #Lucifer”

We will likely see part two drop this year since the filming of Season 6 has already begun.

Lucifer Plot

The end of season 4 saw Lucifer (Tom Ellis) show his identity to Chloe (Lauren German). But before she could digest what had happened –that she was madly in love with the devil– Lucifer packed his bags and returned to hell.

In doing this, he ruled over his dominion, while continuing to keep his closest comrades safe on Earth. The conclusion appeared to be a wise one originally. The two Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) and Linda (Rachael Harris) continued to increase their half-celestial child.

They were leading a satisfying life, but this didn’t last long. Someone convinced Amenadiel that his infant was a mortal. Who would that be? Measure in, Lucifer’s identical twin brother Michael who had been impersonating him on Earth.

His aim, to ruin everything that his dearly beloved brother held dear; a consummate liar, who would say or do anything to get what he desired. But his plans were blown out of the water. Chloe found his identity despite his full-blooded efforts at seduction.

With no time to waste, Lucifer returned to take on his brother. And this didn’t stop the turmoil. Maze or Mazikeen discovered that Lucifer hid what had occurred to her mother, Lilith (L.Scott Caldwell). He knew of her choice to live on Earth as a mortal. In keeping it a secret, it came back to haunt Lucifer.

Michael promised to locate Maze a soul: someone she could be pleased with to fill her mother’s void. In a sudden twist, she became an ally of Michael. To make things worse, Michael told Dan Espinoza (Kevin Alejandro) that Lucifer was the devil.

In the background, Lucifer and Chloe sought to get matters back on course; romantically. Things were not so straightforward, though. His heartbroken lover had been doing well for someone ditched by a devilish devil.

But as the duo continued to work together, they became even in love. Lucifer could no more withstand since the two ended up sleeping together. And yet, for all the joy, he began to eliminate something smug in his personality: the ability for people to acknowledge their darkest desires.

And ironically, this was most evident when Lucifer was working on a case to track down a killer famous for cutting women’s vocal cords. When you thought things were running smoothly, Michael chose to kidnap Chloe. A strange selection of tact, but a somewhat effective one as though she had been rescued, Michael obtained what he wanted: a showdown with Lucifer.

An ensuing struggle arose between Lucifer/Amenadiel on one side against Maze/Michael on another side. And in the final minutes, the battle stopped on a knife-edge using the apparition of God (Dennis Haysbert) in human form.
