Netflix Officially Confirms Second Season Of ‘Squid Game’

The co-CEO and chief content officer of Netflix, Ted Sarandos has officially given green light to the release of 2nd season of the South Korean TV Series “Squid Game”.

Squid Game was Netflix’s biggest hit in 2021 and on Netflix’s fourth-quarter 2021 earnings interview, Sarandros was asked whether there would be a second season of the megahit series Squid Game and he replied with “Absolutely. The ‘Squid Game’ universe has just begun.”

The series depicts the story of contestants trapped in for huge amount of cash, where they have to play children’s games and win every round in order to survive and win the money. Those who lost have to lose their lives. It was similar to a Battle Royale game in which the one who survives till the end, wins.

People liked the concept of the show and the performances of the Korean actors. Within no time the show was popular all over and the show broke the record of the most-watched series of  “Bridgerton”.

The company sees the series as a massive opportunity for growth, as its first season has gained a lot of popularity all around the world.

The creator of the show Hwang Dong-hyuk had indicated that the hit series would be returning for a Season 2. Lee Jung-jae, Park Hae-soo, HoYeon Jung, Wi Ha-joon, Heo Sung-tae, O Yeong-su, Anupam Tripathi, and Kim Joo-ryoung. were part of the show’s cast. Lee Jung-jae will return as the lead character of the series ‘Squid Game’, as Seong Gi-hun.
