The Sadak 2 trailer has come in for immense backlash in Bollywood news circles ever since it dropped, so much so that it has become the most disliked trailer ever on YouTube. And it’s no secret that despite the trailer not being appreciated by many, much of the backlash has emerged from those who haven’t even watched it, simply because of their anger (most of it misguided) against Alia Bhatt, Mahesh Bhatt and the perceived role some sources alleged they to have played in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. Recently, we sat down for an exclusive interview with veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai and inquired how much of this flak is warranted and hos it;s going to affect careers and the industry in the long run.
“I feel, that from time to time, certain fireworks are going to burst. And they subside on their own, too, after some time. ‘Satyameva Jayated’ is the principle what I believe in. Truth will always emerge victorious. There’s nothing else beside the truth. Of course, there’s a lot of anger and resentment now…that’s all right…even these things will settle down, even they will pass away after a while.
Untilamtely, even people will realise that rushing into things and pulling each other down isn’t okay. So, people will get out of thins negative phase after a time and enter into a positive light. That’s what i genuinely think about these times. Whatever bad has to happen, this is the last straw, it’s the climax now. All will be well. 30 years down the line, you’re going to see India as a much wiser country on the international stage,” said Subhash Ghai.
Ghai saab also spoke about Sanjay Dutt recent affliction with lung cancer, believing that the star will be back with a bang given all that he has faced before in life. “Sanjay Dutt has grown before my eyes. I know him since he was 10 years old. His second film, Vidhaata, after Rocky, was made by me. Then came Khal Nayak, which was a big hit, a monumental film of his life, and that, too ,was with me.
In fact, we were planning to make Khal Nayak Returns together. Obviously, I pray to God that his health improves because he is a very strong person. He has seen many crossed in life. He is a guy who can fight darkness, storms and mountains, and this which has happened (Sanju’s lung cancer), you see, he’ll come back, he’ll again get glory, he’ll return with a bang.” Sanjay Dutt’s cousin, Zaheeba, turns emotional as she recalls the actor’s jovial childhood; claims his smile has vanished Sadak 2 is a sequel to the 1991 cult action film, Sadak, with Sanjay Dutt reprising his role, and Mahesh Bhatt returning to the Director’s chair after 21 years. Beside Alia Bhatt, it also stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Makarand Deshpande, Gulshan Grover, Jisshu Sengupta, Priyanka Bose and Mohan Kapur.
