In 2016, Ravindra Jadeja was sanctioned a fine of ₹ 20,000 for taking a selfie with the Lions at Gir Wildlife Sanctuary. The act committed by Jadeja is strictly prohibited by law which is why such action was taken on the all-rounder.

Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of the entire four-match Test series against England scheduled to start in February.
