Rishabh Pant scored his third Test ton as he helped India post a first-innings total of 365 on day three of the fourth Test. At the end, it proved a little too much for the visitors as India won the match by an innings and 25 runs. In the process, India qualified for the World Test Championship finals. They will face New Zealand in the final at Lord’s in June later this year.

Meanwhile, a picture of Rishabh Pant and Ashish Nehra is making the rounds on social media. The picture was shared immediately after Pant got to his hundred.

Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant walked out to bat with India in a spot of bother. Soon India lost Rohit Sharma and they were 146 at one point. From there on Pant and Washington Sundar (96*) added a 113-run stand together.

Talking about his ton, Pant had stated- “The plan was just to build a partnership when I joined Rohit, that was the only thing on my mind. I was thinking I would assess the pitch and then play my shots. If the bowlers are bowling well, respect it and take the singles, and that was on my mind. I like to play the situation, and I just see the ball and react – that’s the USP (unique selling point) of my game.”

He has also reacted after helping India reach the WTC final. Pant spoke about his impressive show with the gloves in the Test series.

“This was a very important innings, especially with the team under pressure. We were in a tough situation at 146-6, and there’s nothing better than performing when the team needs you the most. If I get the chance to reverse-flick a fast bowler again, I definitely would” said Rishabh Pant.

Pant is India’s highest run-scorer in the format this year. He has already scored 515 runs in just six Tests this year with one century and three scores of 90 plus.
