While the 47-year-old wrestler will either face WWE Champion Drew McIntyre or Universal Champion Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 37, the WWE Universe already have their list of current WWE superstars who they’d like to see Edge have a match against.
During an interview with CBS Sports, Edge disclosed that he plans to work with WWE on a full-time basis rather than part-time, stating how he’s going to be there every week. As for his bucket list of wrestlers he wants to get in the ring with, Edge revealed, “I’ve never laid hands on so many of these guys. I scratched the surface with AJ Styles and Seth Rollins just because of Rumbles. To me, both of those matches have to happen. They just have to.”
During the Men’s Royal Rumble, Edge got a taste of what Cesaro and Matt Riddle bring to the table while marvelling over the likes of Ricochet, Mustafa Ali and Sami Zayn, wrestlers he’s not had the opportunity to work with in the past. The possibility of working with the current WWE roster is “super exciting” for the WWE Hall of Famer as it almost makes him feel young, not after the match but before and even during. Given his miraculous return to WWE, after being forced to retire years ago, Edge acknowledged how all of this isn’t supposed to be happening but he’s going to enjoy all of it.
If the world we perfect, Edge would want to wrestle every single one of them. However, it’s a little out of his control. Nonetheless, Edge hopes to tackle with some of them as that’s partly the reason why he came back; to tell amazing stories with new talent.
“Let me get in there with some people. Let me get in with Cesaro. I’d love to do an iron man with Daniel Bryan. There’s just so much talent I would love to get in with. I got a sample of Damien Priest, and that was exciting. It’s just really fun for me because I see them get wide-eyed because we’re having this cool, special moment, and I want more of those,” Edge concluded to CBS Sports.
