Rupali Ganguly finds THESE similarities and differences between Anupamaa and Monisha Sarabhai

MUMBAI: Rupali Ganguly has carved a path for herself in the television world. The talented actress is known for her acting chops.   

The actress is currently garnering praise for her performance in the hit TV show Anupamaa. The drama has been well received by the audience from its inception and is consistently topping the TRP charts. However, there is another popular character that Rupali is known for, and that is Monisha from Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai. While both her characters are poles apart, there are also some similarities that Rupali’s loyal fans might have noticed. So, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Rupali spoke about the similarities and differences between Anupamaa and Monisha Sarabhai.

Speaking about the similarities between her two characters, Rupali said, “To begin with, Anupamaa believes in recycling. If you see the second episode of Anupamaa, there is this beautiful tie box that Vanraj gets as a gift. So she picks it up and keeps it in the kitchen to use. Also, the bow that was attached to the box she sticks it to the knife that was used to cut her birthday cake. So yes, Anupamaa also believes in recycling, and Monisha from Sarabhai vs Sarabhai is of course the recycle queen.” She added, “Anupamaa and Monisha both love unconditionally. Both their mother-in-laws (Leela Shah in Anupamaa and Maya Sarabhai in Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai) have been tough on them, but they still love them. Interestingly, their father-in-laws (Hasmukh Shah in Anupamaa and Indravadan in Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai) in both the shows have always been very supportive. In fact, Arvind Vaidya ji who plays my father-in-law in Anupamaa had played Madhu Fufa in Sarabhai.” 

Commenting on the differences, Rupali said, “Anupamaa is sarvagun sampanna. She can manage the house and work, both pretty well while Monisha is the complete antithesis of her. Monisha would sit in front of the television the entire day and would be lazy all the time, but Anupamaa just doesn’t have the time. She would always be working and looking after her family and the house.”
