  • Samsung has launched the Galaxy F62 in India.
  • The phone sports a 7,000mAh battery and Exynos 9825 chipset.
  • Its pricing starts at Rs. 23,999.

Samsung debuted its first Galaxy F series device in October 2020 and has been rumored to bolster the lineup ever since. Now, the company has finally lifted the lid on the Galaxy F62.

What is now effectively the flagship of the Galaxy F range, the Galaxy F62 wears a loud pin-stripe “Laser Gradient” colorway on its back. It’s certainly distinctive and a notable departure from Samsung’s Galaxy A move to subdued pastels. The Galaxy F62 is also a decidedly large and heavy device, weighing in at 218 grams with a 9.5mm thick body. There’s a good reason for this, though.

Internally, the Galaxy F62 sports a 7,000mAh battery — among the largest we’ve seen on a Samsung smartphone. It powers an Exynos 9825 chipset taken from the Galaxy Note 10 series. Up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage is available.

Upfront, Samsung employs a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a centrally-mounted punch hole housing a 32MP selfie camera. The rear imaging options are similar to the Galaxy A71‘s lineup. There’s a 64MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide, a 5MP macro shooter, and a 5MP depth sensor.

Other key features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a single speaker at the bottom of the device alongside a USB-C port. A Galaxy S10e-like side-mounted fingerprint sensor features on its right edge, too.

Samsung Galaxy F62: Price and availability

The Galaxy F62 will be available in two guises. The entry-level option includes 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage retailing for Rs. 23,999 (~$331). An 8GB/128GB option is also available for Rs. 25,999 (~$358). Sales kick off on Flipkart, Samsung India’s online store, Reliance, and other retailers from February 22 from 12PM IST (2.30 AM ET).

Samsung’s clearly targeting the likes of the OnePlus Nord and Google’s Pixel 4a with the F62. Arguably, it seems a better device on paper.
