This duo is good, but they can’t quite compete with the GTR 2e and GTS 2e. Like the latter, the GTS 2 packs a design inspired by the Apple Watch. Both the GTR 2 and GTS 2 sport offline voice assistants, which gives users another way of controlling their watches on the fly. Both devices also pack AMOLED screens, plenty of battery life, and an array of sports tracking features.

Like the GTR 2e and GTS 2e, the duo also contends with erratic GPS performance, lack of third-party apps, and mediocre heart rate monitoring. These issues are made more apparent by their pricing. But, as we mentioned, they are worth considering if you can find them on sale.

Amazfit Bip U: The best cheap Amazfit smartwatch

Despite its billing as a smartwatch, the Bip U does well to challenge most fitness trackers on price without sacrificing many features. It packs a bright display, battery life of nine days, and tracking for a host of activities. Continuous heart rate tracking, stress and sleep monitoring, period tracking, and 5ATM water resistance also feature. There’s a pulse oximeter too — a definite win for the Bip U at its price point.

However, these are packed into a cheap, flimsy body while the usual Amazfit issue of nonexistent app support also drags down the Bip U’s prospects. The display is an LCD panel too, so wearers will have to contend with lower contrast ratios than the brand’s more expensive AMOLED watches. That said, there’s little you can really complain about if you’re after a capable but cheap fitness-first smartwatch.

Amazfit T-Rex Pro: The best rugged Amazfit smartwatch

The Amazfit T-Rex Pro keeps the smartwatch experience simple. This isn’t really a flaw, either. It’s an outdoor-focused GPS watch at heart cocooned in a resistant outer shell. It may not be visually appealing to those who crave more subtlety, but it’ll likely survive a weekend away camping better than most. It also features a long 18-day battery life — a must for those who aren’t near a reliable power source.

Where it does fail is its temperamental GPS, its relatively cheap feel, and the common problem of no third-party apps. If none of that troubles you, and you’re seeking a solid outdoor smartwatch, you can’t really go wrong with the T-Rex Pro.

Amazfit Band 5: The best Amazfit fitness tracker

The Band 5 is brand’s best entry to the fitness tracker segment. Its headline feature is the SpO2 sensor — something you don’t usually find at this price point. It also packs Amazon Alexa support for smart home controls, 5ATM water resistance for swimmers, and tracking for 11 sports and activities. If we had to nit-pick, its design is vapid and uninspiring like most fitness trackers. But we’d take it considering its small price tag and lightweight footprint.
