Virat Kohli, Ravi Shastri Reacts After India Conquers The Gabba

Virat Kohli-Ravi Shastri

Indian skipper Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri has reacted to India’s Test series win against Australia. They won the final Test match at The Gabba by three wickets to win the series 2-1. This happened after the batting collapse in the first Test in Adelaide. They were bowled out for 36 as people termed it as an ‘abberation’. However, they forged a memorable fightback and bounced back with wins in Melbourne and Brisbane to complete a series win.

Indian head coach Ravi Shastri was very vocal after India pulled off a series win by winning at the toughest Australian venue to play Test cricket.

“This is a big series win. I don’t think the cricketing world will forget this. Some of us were in a lockdown for some six months whereas cricket had started in some other part of the world. To come here and play the way we have despite having our main bowlers injured, is phenomenal. The players know when they cross the boundary line, they are playing for India,” Shastri said as he lauded his players.

He further said that the intensity of Virat Kohli rubbed off on his teammates despite him being not available for the final three Tests.

“The boys have performed so well that I am lost for words. The character of this team is amazing especially after the 36 all out at Adelaide. This team wasn’t built overnight. Virat has been with us despite not being here. His intensity rubbed on to everyone else. (Ajinkya) Rahane might look calm but he is a strong man from inside. A tough character,” Shastri said.
