Rohit Sharma after a good start in the third ODI against England was undone by a googly by Adil Rashid. Rohit added a 103-run stand with Shikhar Dhawan before Rashid who came into bowl just his second over picked up the key wicket of Rohit. Indian skipper Virat Kohli once again lost the toss and was invited to bat first by Jos Buttler.
Rohit and Dhawan gave India a rollicking start putting up their 17th 100-run partnership in ODI cricket. They are the second-best in the list after Sachin Tendulkar-Sourav Ganguly’s tally of 21 100-plus stands. Rashid had a decision turned down against Dhawan in the very first delivery of the 15th over. The ball pitched outside the leg-stump and thus England’s decision to review the decision backfired.
Dhawan took a double of the next ball and a single of the third ball which brought Rohit back onto the strike. On the fourth ball of the over, Rashid bowled a googly which beat Rohit all ends up and thudded onto his stumps. He did not read the ball either of the hands or off the wicket. He tried to play for the leg-spin leaving a gap between bat and ball and the ball sneaked through and castled the stumps.

In his very next over, Adil Rashid dismissed Shikhar Dhawan on 67 and dismissed both the openers in a space of two overs. Rashid took a return catch off his own bowling to dismiss the left-hander and bring an end to his brisk innings. Soon Moeen Ali dismissed Kohli as India lost three wickets in a space of 21 runs after India brought up their 100 in the 15th over.
The pitch has been a good one for batting so far and has assisted spin as was evident in the case of both the wickets. While England are playing with two spinners, India have just one in the form of Krunal Pandya. India have included T Natarajan in place of Kuldeep Yadav who was taken for plenty in the last game.
