Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has a massive fan following. The show recently underwent a major change. The death of Naira came as a huge shock for each of #Kaira fans. However, Shivangi Joshi soon returned as Sirat and we also saw a few new entries in the show. Sirat family will now play a major role. Kartik and Sirat’s love story has begun and fans are eagerly waiting to see Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi winning hearts again. Ashita Dhawan plays the role of Sirat’s mother, Ila who hates her daughter and wants to capture her mother’s house. In an exclusive interview with BollywoodLife, Ashita Dhawan opened up about always wanting to be a part of the show. The actress was a part of the show, Bidaai when Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai began. Ashita said that she had never thought she would be a part of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai after it completes 3000 episodes.
She said, “I had never thought I would be a part of the show although I always wanted to be a part of it. It is rightly said that everything happens at the right time and that you should always save the best for the last. So I think this is that time. After 3300 episodes, I still managed to find a place in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai which is a legendary show. I think every actor would love to be a part of the show. Also, working with Rajan Shahi again is like coming back home as I began my journey with him in Bidaai. ” Ashita Dhawan was all praise for Rajan Shahi and is happy collaborating with again after Bidaai. She shared, “It is always a pleasure to work with Rajan Ji. Everything is very comfortable and I know the entire team. I know how they function, I know what they want and we just gel like water. Our tuning is very comfortable. Whenever I work with him I am always very comfortable and feel like taken care of. So basically it is like going to another home from my home. The Nazar actress also spoke about her character Ila in the show. She said, “Whatever roles I have played till now maybe on the same lines but still people loved me for the bad things I did. They have waited that when will the villain come in and do something. My characters have always added the spark and the colour. If we talk about Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, my character Ila stands out amongst all the others because of how she is. Like she hates her daughter and she has some cruelty in it but people will still love her. It is not a comic role but somehow it will look like that. So I am hoping that eventually, the audience will wait to see Ila every time. I want to mark my own presence in such a big show.”
Ashita Dhawan also shared how her first day of shoot was. She said, “First day of my shoot was brilliant, it was beautiful. It was like we are doing something so new. I never felt that I am doing a show which is going on for years, it was like we are shooting for a completely new show. It was tiring but we were full of energy till the end. I even remember that after the shoot on the first day, I told Rajan ji and my director that I totally enjoyed the shoot.” Ashita was also all praise for Shivangi Joshi. She said, “Working with Shivangi was very comfortable. I feel very proud to say that she is such a young girl and still she’s got her head on her shoulders. She was comforting, professional, caring, loving and everything. She is just a package. So I loved working with her. There were no issues while shooting with her. Sometimes it happens that when a person is the main lead of a very popular show then a new family is introduced. There was no such feeling in her and did not feel anything like that too. She never made me feel like I am working with someone so popular. She is very down-to-earth and very loving. That’s why we connected to well and I felt that it would be so much fun shooting with her. It feels good when you see the young generation being so dedicated and so passionate. This gives you the energy to perform as well. Ultimately the lead pair runs your runs and when the lead pair is bang on then the supporting cast also looks good.”
