During a new interview for US Weekly, the reality TV star revealed that season 11 of RHONJ is going to be ‘very different’ and very raw when it comes to her and Joe Gorga’s marriage.
‘This season, it’s very raw. It’s very real,’ she noted, explaining that the reason why it’s going to be so raw and real, is that it will show a lot of the struggles the married couple faces nowadays.
As fans know, Joe and Mellissa have been husband and wife since 2004 and they are now facing some new hurdles in their longtime relationship.
Mellissa shared that ‘We’ve done very good for eleven years. We are a great couple. We try very hard. We fight hard for our family and it is not easy to be on reality TV for eleven years and still stand strong. He likes things to stay the same. I have been with him since I was 24 years old. So I have changed and I feel like this is a very scary part of marriage. Either you are going to grow together or you are going to grow apart. And I think we are fighting really hard to grow together.’
But while they are trying really hard to make it work and not end up getting a divorce, Mellissa admitted that ‘It’s not easy. We’re struggling. I am not sitting here and telling you that, like, I am moving out of my house but we were struggling and we show it…We are fighting out of it.’
While she offered a lot more details, fans of the show should not be too shocked to hear about the struggles they face.
After all, the season 11 trailer teased that ‘rocky marriages’ is pretty much the main theme and focus in the episodes to come.
