‘Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai’ – Shaan is excited to find the perfect match for his ‘Yaar’ Mika Singh
Star Bharat’s upcoming nonfiction show ‘Swayamvar – Mika Di Vohti’ will soon embark on Mika Singh’s journey of finding his life partner, and who better to help him find that person other than his brother, his Yaar, the melodic Shaan! See him get candid about how this opportunity came to him and his thoughts on finding the right match for his brother Mika Singh.
Q. What prompted you to take up this show?
The day I heard that my brother, my best friend – Mika Singh, has decided to take the plunge and approached me to host the show, I could not have said no to that. I am getting the opportunity to host my best friend’s, mere bhai ka ‘Swayamvar’, so I had to be a part of this.
I am super excited about this journey of looking for the right person for my brother. Someone who understands him, someone who believes in him and someone who will make him happy. From a show perspective, it was a different concept from what I have ever done before. I am absolutely looking forward to it and would like to thank Star Bharat for giving me this opportunity.
Q. Tell us about your relationship with Mika Singh and how you came to be such close friends?
We have known each other for more than a decade now and we admire each other’s work and creativity. In the time we have spent together, we have been judges on many TV shows on different occasions. Our relationship goes beyond our professional association, Mika is family to me and my wife. You will get a glimpse of this on the show ‘Swayamvar – Mika Di Vohti’ – coming up soon on Star Bharat.
Q. What was going on in your mind when Mika Singh asked you to host his Swayamvar?
Radhika and I had been wanting Mika to find a partner for a long time. It was a welcome thought which made me and my wife say, “FINALLY!”. I just knew that I wanted to be a part of something so significant like ‘Swayamvar – Mika Di Vohti’! So here I am all set to help my brother find his Vohti’. I am thankful to Star Bharat for giving me this opportunity.
Q. Do you believe that you will be able to find the perfect person / life partner for Mika Singh?
There is no perfect person or perfect partner, I have been married for so long and I feel the recipe for a successful marriage is the individual itself, however I will use my experience and look for a girl who will fit into my brother’s life, accept him for who he is and walk alongside him. These are qualities which have worked for me and I feel are necessary to make a relationship work.
Q. What is it like coming back on television as a host after a 14-year gap?
‘Swayamvar – Mika Di Vohti’ is a unique opportunity for me. I have played host on several music reality shows, but for the first time I have been approached with such a different concept. As an artist I like to explore new things and this a challenging opportunity with the comfort of having my best friend as a part of it. I look forward to this unique journey and would like to thank Star Bharat for giving me this opportunity.
Q. When will the shoot start for the show and how long will it go on for?
We’ll get to know soon and, in the meantime, I would want you and all of mine and Mika’s fans to watch out for ‘Swayamvar – Mika Di Vohti’ only on Star Bharat. I look forward to getting a great response from the viewers.
Q. What was your wife’s reaction upon hearing that you will be hosting Mika Singh’s Swayamvar?
She is more excited than me and genuinely happy about his decision to get married. We both are looking forward to him settling down and joining our Only Married Club. She is excitedly waiting for ‘Swayamvar – Mika Di Vohti’ on Star Bharat!
