Sonakshi Sinha gets talking about farmers’ protests: The voices raised are about the violation of human rights

Sonakshi Sinha has recently joined the bandwagon of those who openly spoke out against a few other celebs who criticized western celebrities for tweeting in support of the farmers. She begins by addressing certain issues through a series of Instagram posts. One of her posts read, “The voices raised are about the violation of human rights, suppressions of free internet and expression, state propaganda, hate speech and abuse of power.” Moreover, the actress also talked about a few more issues.

These issues include the harassment of journalists and the ban on the internet. She further added how the protesters are being vilified through the media and state propaganda. Sonakshi stated in another post that hate speech has flourished and that the issue has now taken a global center stage. Apart from that, the Bhuj actress also wrote, “To re-iterate, news tonight will try to paint a picture that “outside forces’ are trying to meddle in the functioning of our country. Please don’t give in to that narrative. It’s human, standing up for other humans. THAT’S the narrative.”

Sonakshi Sinha’s Instagram posts come during a time when most of the Bollywood celebs are divided in their opinions regarding the Centre’s farm laws and the ongoing farmers’ protests. However, a few of them like Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar, and others faced backlash for having supported the statement given by the Ministry of External Affairs.
