Amid Joshua Bassett drama, is Sabrina Carpenter’s Skin a direct response to Olivia Rodrigo’s Drivers License?

“And you”re probably with that blonde girl / Who always made me doubt / She’s so much older than me / She’s everything I’m insecure about,” is the main lyric from Olivia Rodrigo’s hit single Drivers License which had many fans convinced that the song was about Joshua Bassett and Sabrina Carpenter. For the unversed, Bassett is Rodrigo’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series co-star and rumoured ex-boyfriend.

Moreover, Carpenter is said to be dating Joshua while seemingly being referred to as the ‘blonde girl’ in Drivers License. In what could possibly be a direct response to Drivers Licence is Sabrina’s recent release titled Skin. “Maybe you didn’t mean it/ Maybe blonde was the only rhyme,” the 21-year-old singer and actress croons while adding, “Don’t drive yourself insane / It won’t always be this way.” Interestingly, Bassett also released a new single titled Lie Lie Lie, one week after Drivers License dropped.
