The Redmi Note series has long been one of Xiaomi’s most successful smartphone line that doesn’t break the bank. Phones in the series have historically offered a nice design, excellent performance, and unmatched value for money. This is why the next set of Redmi Note phones — the Redmi Note 10 series — are so highly anticipated.

There’s been growing chatter about the Redmi Note 10 series since last November. Xiaomi has also revealed a launch timeline for the phones so we thought now would be the best time to put together everything we know about the lineup.

Redmi Note 10 series name and release date

It’s not hard to predict the name of Xiaomi’s numbered Redmi Note series. Last year, we got a bunch of devices under the Redmi Note 9 banner, and this year we expect the same from the Redmi Note 10 series.

Xiaomi India has also been teasing the upcoming phones of late, explicitly saying that the Redmi Note 10 series is coming in March this year.

Tipster Ishan Agarwal previously claimed the Redmi Note 10 and Note 10 Pro would launch in India in February. Now that we know that’s not happening, it’s possible that the phones will be announced around mid-March. That’s also when Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max in India.

The company took the previous Redmi Notes global in April and we expect the same launch trajectory for the Redmi Note 10 series.

Redmi Note 10 series specs and features

The Redmi Note 10 phones have high standards to live up to. Teasers and rumors seem to suggest that they’ll do just that.

According to Xiaomi, the handsets will be its “smoothest ever.” The messaging suggests the series might finally adopt high refresh rate screens. Last year’s Redmi Note 9 Pro and Pro Max continued with 60Hz displays, while competitor Realme 6 Pro had already upgraded to a 90Hz screen.

A leak from the XiaomiUI Telegram channel suggests at least the Redmi Note 10 Pro will finally switch to a 120Hz LCD screen.

The same leak also revealed that the Pro model will pack a 64MP primary camera along with ultra-wide, macro, and depth sensors. Its global version is expected to come with NFC, but the phone might skip the feature in India.

Additionally, the Redmi Note 10 Pro is rumored to pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G chipset and a 5,050mAh battery.

Tipster Ishan Agarwal also offered up some info on the two Redmi Note 10 models. His leak suggests the standard Redmi Note 10 will have two variants: 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 64GB storage. Meanwhile, the Redmi Note Pro is said to come in three variants: 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage.

Not much else is known about the specs of the new Redmi Note 10 series. However, we expect to learn more in the coming days.

Redmi Note 10 series price and competition

Xiaomi will have to keep the Redmi Note 10 series competitively priced to tackle similar value-for-money offerings from rival Realme. To that end, leaker Ishan Agarwal claimed Xiaomi will offer “pretty aggressive” pricing in India.

Last year, the Redmi Note 9 Pro started retailing at Rs. 12,999 (~$178) for the 4GB model, while the Note 9 Pro Max cost Rs. 16,999 (~$233) for the standard 6GB of RAM version. We expect prices for the Redmi Note 10 series to remain in line with those of its predecessor.

Realme is also expected to announce its Narzo 30 series of phones in India soon. We believe they will take on the Redmi Note 10 series in terms of specifications and pricing. Stablemate Poco also launched the M3 in India recently which competes in the same price bracket.

We’ll have to test these phones to see which of them offer best-in-class performance. Until then, bookmark this page for any future updates about the Redmi Note 10 series.
