Promise Day: Kuch Kuch Hota Hai to Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, films that celebrate true love and friendship

Valentine’s Week has already started and today is February 11 which is celebrated all over the world as Promise Day. It falls four days ahead of Valentine”s Day. The other days Rose Day, Propose Day, Chocolate Day and Teddy Day among others. As the word promise itself means a written or spoken agreement that one makes with another. And as this is the month of love, couples make honest promises to each other to stay together in all thick and thin situations. But Promise Day is not only for couples but this day also provides an opportunity for many to make promises with other family members, friends and other loved ones.

Interestingly, talking about friendship and love, how can we forget Bollywood which has several times made us believe that friends can also true love. There are several films which is on friendship and love and have taught us friends are also love. From Kuch Kuch Hota Hai to Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, films have played an integral part in our lives. 1. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai:

Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji starrer Kuch Kuch Hota Hai film top the list when talking about friendship. In a scene when Professor Braganza asks SRK what is love, he answers, Love Is Friendship. This dialogue is still popular among the masses and applies to our life. 2. Dil Toh Pagal Hai:

3. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani:

The film based on four friends and their struggle in life has won many hearts. Deepika loves Ranbir but cannot express it and Kalki loves Aditya, but he never understands it. The film truly projects the feeling of friends and how they support each other.

4. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara:

The film taught us you cannot become friends only by saying you have to keep updates about your friends too. Abhay Deol gets into trouble but is not ready to speak with his friends played by Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar. But they make Abhay confess what he feels about Natasha played by Kalki Koechlin. This shows that friends can help you to understand what is better for you.

5. Dil Chahta Hai:

Farhan Akhtar directorial will always remain favourite films in every generation. The trio Aamir Khan, Akshaye Khanna and Saif Ali Khan show what true friendship is. No matter they don’t speak to each other but when any problem comes they will surely be at your side. In the end, the trio comes together and gives us a big lesson of being united.
