FIR launched against makers of 'Mirzapur'

The makers of popular show ‘Mirzapur’ (2018) are facing legal issues. According to reports, a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, and Bhaumik Gondaliya at the Kotwali Dehat police station of Mirzapur.

The complaint has been filed for allegedly showcasing the district in bad light through abusive content, promoting social enmity. Complainant Arvind Chaturvedi claimed that the series has hurt his religious sentiments.

“Arvind Chaturvedi alleged that the web series has shown abusive content and illicit relations. Thus, based on the complaint, an FIR has been registered against producers and the platform,” said the SP of Mirzapur, Ajay Kumar. This follows on from the brand new drama series ‘Tandav’ (2021) also receiving the same FIR, reports Box Office Bollywood.

Both shows are streaming now on Amazon Prime Video.
